HOW BIG ARE THE GROUPS?

We keep our tours limited to 12 or less travelers in order to foster an intimate experience.

 

ARE FLIGHTS INCLUDED?

You are responsible for booking your own flight itinerary. In an effort to accommodate travelers from all around the world, your tour begins when you land at your destination. You will always be greeted at the airport and transportation is provided.

We are happy to recommend preferred airlines and link you with other travelers whenever possible! 

 

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TRIP?

Besides spending hours daydreaming about it, you mean? But honestly, aside from your flights, a valid passport and travels insurance, we’ve got you covered. Upon booking, you will receive an email with detailed packing and travel tips as well as any other viable information on your particular destination. Passports should have an expiration date that is valid at least 6 months from the date of travel.

 

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT CONDITIONS?

$500 Deposit required at the time of booking.

50% Deposit required 30 days after the booking has been made.

Final payment required 60 days after the booking has been made.

If the booking falls between 0-60 days prior to departure; full payment is required.

 

DO I NEED A VISA?

Whether or not you need a visa will depend on your passport origin and your destination of travel. Please check your specific tour details for visa information. If needed, you can obtain one yourself by following the instructions outlined by the travel bureau of your destination. 

 

DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?

Yes. In order to ensure a smooth and safe trip, travel insurance is compulsory upon booking. You cannot travel on our tours without it.

 

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY TRIP?

We totally understand that unexpected circumstances may change your travel plans. That’s why your non-refundable deposit has no expiration date and can be transferred to any future tour at any time.

 

You may cancel your booking at any point leading up to the tour with written consent from the person who confirmed the booking. The fees associated with cancellation are outlined below. Please note, the cancellation will be recorded as the date we receive the written notification.

More than 90 days: Deposit Held

 

90-81 days: 40% of the total tour price

 

80-71 days: 60% of the total tour price

 

70-61 days: 80% of the total tour price

 

Within 60 days: 100% of the total tour price

 

Depending on the reason for cancellation, you may be able to reclaim these cancellation charges (less any applicable excess) under the terms of your insurance policy. Claims must be made directly to the insurance company concerned. Please ensure that your insurance policy covers the total cost of your holiday for cancellation purposes.

 

WHAT IF BALANCED RETREATS CANCELS MY TOUR?

In the unfortunate event that Balanced Retreats would have to cancel or reschedule your tour, you will be promptly reimbursed in full and your deposit will be returned. We will make every effort possible to safeguard against unexpected cancellation.
